Happy Easter!

Since Easter Sunday was also Karan's 50th birthday we had them over for dinner Saturday evening.  Paul grilled steaks and I made twice baked potatoes, sweet green beans, garlic cheese bread and a strawberry poke cake (which is super easy by the way).  It was all yummy!  Happy Birthday Karan!!!

Christian opened his Easter basket from Grammy, Papa, Uncle Luke and Aunt Emma which included his first chocolate Easter bunny so we let him have that after dinner.  He probably ate about 1/4 of it...which is more than I expected.  He's not big on sweets.  Are we sure he's really my kid???  =)

Easter Sunday was spent at my parent's house where Christian had his first Easter Egg Hunt.   He also got three baskets filled with candy, toys, and even big boy underwear from Grandma!  Happy Easter!

Kansas City Trip

We are finally back from Kansas City, MO!  ::huge sigh of relief::

I had to stay in Kansas City, MO for 4 nights/5 days to help out with our 2nd Annual Earth Day Coin Laundry Trade Show for work.  Paul decided to take some vacation days and bring Christian along for the trip.  We arrived Saturday and met up with Laura & Joel in Lee's Summit.  We got to see their new house that's being built.  Wow!  Was it huge and I'm officially jealous.  =)  They are very lucky to be starting out in such a nice home.  Congratulations Laura & Joel!!

While I was working during the day Paul and Christian went out and explored Kansas City.  One day they went to Union Station, another day to the Children's Museum and finally to The Plaza.  The weather wasn't great so they had to pick indoor activities.  Looks like they had a good time anyways:

Forward-Facing Meat

Paul cleaned out the van and my car this weekend (since the weather was so nice)...and I had him turn Christian's car seat forward-facing.  So it's official...no more baby in this house!  He looks like such a big boy in his seat!  (notice the van essentials: basketball, blankie, and sippy cup of milk)

We are going on a 4+ hour drive to Kansas City next weekend so I figured it was the perfect time to switch.  He seems to like riding forward-facing better so far.  Not only are his legs free to kick the back of the seat in front of him (which is usually Mommy)...but now he can see Mommy & Daddy in the front seats while we ride around!!

To Papa's house we go!!!!

Christian & Maddie

Jacque, Jason, and Madelyn visited St. Louis this weekend and we got to spend some time with them on Saturday.  We met up at the Science Center, then had dinner at Chuck E Cheese's.  The kids had a blast!  Paul and I were wiped out by the end of the day.  Guess we're getting old!?  =)  This was the first time Christian and Maddie met and Christian was being shy at first...but Maddie kept trying to get hugs in.  It was adorable!  She's such a sweetheart!  ♥

New Glider For Momma!

I am super excited about this!!  I sold my first glider on Craigslist this week for $100 (which is really good considering it was almost 2 years old already).  Can you believe Christian is almost 2 years old!?!?!?  It had no damage and was still a very nice glider...I just wanted a new one.  For Christmas I asked for Babies R Us (BRU) gift cards so I could afford my dream glider.  Well...I finally ordered my new glider this week!  It should arrive sometime next week.  Yippee!  It's so comfortable I can't wait to get it!  Here's a picture and link:

Our Weekend In Pics

Sunday was such a happy day all around!  The weather was gorgeous (90 degrees, bright sun, windy).  First thing Christian wanted to do was go "side"...outside.  So we did.  He loves his new basketball hoop & ball that Uncle Sonny bought him for Christmas.  He can even make baskets!!  So we hung out for awhile then came in to make breakfast.

We invited my parents, grandma, and uncle over for dinner last night since we planned to grill.  Paul grilled up chicken, steaks, and shrimp.  It was delicious!  My mom made a yummy Strawberry Shortcake dessert that I plan to make in the near future.  We even pulled the baby pool out since it was so warm.  Christian had fun showing off for everyone...he's such a ham.
