15 Month Well Visit

Author: The Presson's // Category:
We took Christian to his 15 month well visit yesterday (9/29/10) with Dr. Huger.  He now weighs 26 pounds and is 33 inches long.  Big boy!!  She checked him over and said, and I quote, "he is the picture of perfection."  I already knew that ;)

She asked about his diet, milk intake, sleep/nap schedule, how many words he has, etc.  All was good!  He got 2 shots in one stick and the flu shot in another stick.  So each leg got some lovin'.  Poor baby got all red in the face but didn't cry until about 3 minutes AFTER the sticks.  =,(  He went to bed around 7:30pm last night, which is about an hour early from usual.  Those shots must have worn him out!

We have a busy weekend planned...Laura is getting married to Joel on Saturday!  The wedding starts at 6:30pm at their church in Jefferson City, and the reception will be at an art gallery immediately following.  Since it will be a late night we have planned to stay the night in Jeff at Kim & Tim's beautiful house (which has more than enough space for everyone).  Should be fun!  Now off to figure out what I'm gonna wear???

Our Minivan

I took these pics of the van this morning on our way to drop Christian off.  We love it!!!

Bye bye bottle

Last night Christian went to bed WITHOUT A BOTTLE!  This is big news in our house!  Christian loves his bottle and when we tried to get rid of it at 1 year he refused to drink milk from any other cup/sippy.  So we have been giving him 2 bottles/day since then.  He gets one before nap and one before bed.  Since he's almost 15 months old I thought it would be a good time to try again.  Just before bed last night I filled his sippy with milk and handed it to him.  He started drinking right away...no fuss, no fight.

So we went into his room and I rocked him while he drank his milk (like usual).  He drank about 80% of the sippy and went right to sleep.  YAY!!!  Hopefully tonight goes as smooth and we can drop the night bottle for good.  Next we need to work on dropping the nap bottle.  I think it will be harder to break Papa of that one than Christian.  ;)

We will probably be converting his crib into a toddler bed this weekend.  I have caught him trying to climb out of the crib recently.  Since he sleeps in a twin bed for naps during the weekdays...I think he'll transition just fine.  My little baby is growing up!

This weekend we have planned a trip to Eckart's on Sunday for apple picking.  The weather forecast was looking good, but now they're predicting rain so we'll see.  Those things change daily here in St. Louis.  If we end up going I'll be sure to take LOTS of pics!  =)

We own a Minivan

Yes you read the title correctly!  We traded in the truck are now the proud new owners of a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT Crew!  We purchased the Minivan on Saturday (it only took 5 hours at the dealership).  The color is called Dark Titanium Metallic.  It has all the bells and whistles including: power everything, heated seats, dual DVD entertainment system, remote start, and stow 'n go seating (which means you can either store stuff under the seats or both the 2nd and 3rd rows can be put down into the floorboard).  It's a really nice van.  Rides super smooth and we love it!  Here are a couple pics I found online.  I will be taking pics of our actual van and post them later.  I always said I would NEVER own a Minivan....well, never say never.  =)

Suson Park

Paul, Christian, and I went to Suson Park last weekend since the weather was so nice.  They have a small animal farm with horses, ponys, pigs, chickens, ducks, and goats.  Christian had such a good time looking at all the animals!  He loves being outdoors - no matter what we're doing he's happy when outside (which explains why he's covered in mosquito bites 99% of the time).  The poor kid looks like he has chicken pox today.

This would have been a decent picture if Christian didn't look drunk.  Lay off the sauce little buddy.  LOL!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Author: The Presson's // Category:
Well we had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!  Paul and I both took Friday off to spend time with Christian and have a 4 day weekend.  I'm so glad we did that because I was very productive around the house.  I cleaned out Christian's closet - removed all the 12 month clothes that no longer fit.  ::sniff sniff::  Then I washed and hung all his new 18 & 24 month sized clothes for fall and winter.  He's got the cutest wardrobe ever...which is mostly Carter's brand - because they're good quality at a reasonable price...and adorable!!!  =)

We also cleaned the house - including scrubbing the bathtub.  Boy did it need it!!  It's so nice to take a shower in a CLEAN bathtub.  Other than cleaning we did some fun stuff this weekend too.  Saturday Christian and I took a roadtrip to Perryville, MO for my friend's baby shower.  Nikki Skinner is due November 24th and they are waiting to find out the sex (something I could NEVER do).  She got LOTS of nice things and the party was great!

Sunday we spent with my parents - the Molter grandparents.  Since the weather was perfect we went to a park near their house and let Christian swing and play on the slide.  He was in awe of all the older children running around.  He wanted to chase right after them!

We went to Growler's for dinner and sat outside in the beer garden.  Christian had his very first rib!  Something tells me he enjoyed it...

After dinner we stopped at Fritz's for ice cream.  Christian had another first this weekend ...his very first ice cream cone!  He was a sticky mess afterwards.  It's a good thing toddler's are washable!  =)

Monday morning was spent SHOPPING!!!  My favorite thing to do!  I took my mom with us to Carter's and then Sam's.  Carter's was having a HUGE Labor Day Sale - you got an additional 20% off your entire purchase on top of all the other sales going on.  They had a bunch of summer stuff on clearance so I bought 2T for next summer.  I also had $20 off in cards so I saved almost $100 total!  I got some more winter stuff - tops, jeans, shoes, socks, and a couple of Christmas jammies.

Here are some pics from last night before bed (someone was cranky).  Christian was playing with Sada so I got a video clip too.  I just love those new jammies.  They say, "Mommy's Super Hero" on them...sooo adorable!!!  Carter's of course  =)

Oh - I almost forgot...last night before bed Christian said a new word - "nana" for banana.  The bananas were sitting on the counter and I was holding him.  He pointed at them and clearly said "nana" so I opened one up and he ate a whole banana before bed.  It's amazing to watch him learn new things every day.
